Tutoring in Your Home
I believe that a student responds best when they are in a comfortable learning environment. Being at home, allows a student to relax, to be more at ease during their session, and not to feel the pressure from outside influences. I call it "home court advantage" for the student. I have had great results with my current clientele - 60% of tutoring is done in the home.
Flexible Scheduling
I realize every family and every child has a tight schedule these days. I make every effort to accommodate my students' needs. Ideally, if a student met the same time each week, it would develop consistency for the student and it would improve their study habits. I am aware that quizzes, tests and difficult concepts pop up, so if it works in my schedule logistically, I can be available last minute. Basically, I try to work around your schedule. However, I must say that if you schedule a session with me and you cancel under 24 hours than I must charge you for a half a session the first time and a full session - every time thereafter.
Individualized Program
My motto for the business is - "Tutoring where you are!" I adapt to each student's level of understanding. Every program is designed with your student's individual needs addressed, not based on a particular curriculum. A student may need sessions only to prepare for a quiz/test. Another student may want a session every week for consistent preparation and then there may be one who wants multiple sessions to attend to other issues.
