I am happy to tell you about Bill Brown. He was a wonderful tutor for Melanie. The first year tutoring was in 10th grade doing Geometry, then Algebra 2 in 11th grade, and then Algebra 3/Trig her senior year. Bill is very dedicated, he goes way beyond what I would expect as far as meeting with the teacher, emailing teacher to see about test and quiz timing, etc. He also encouraged Melanie to meet with her teacher for extra help.
As a tutor, Bill was very focused on the subject matter, but at the same time warm and friendly. Melanie really liked him the best of any tutor she ever had (and she started with some in 3rd grade, math was always a challenge for her). He helped bring her grades up and he gave her the confidence that she could do it. He usually met with Melanie once a week but he went out of his way to make sure he was available when needed. For example, he was willing to switch days when a test was coming up or to squeeze in an extra session when needed. She needed some extra time during exam week for Algebra 2 and he worked with us and all his other students to cover everyone’s needs, even coming to our home on weekends or meeting at other locations.
I can’t say enough great things about Bill. I think you will be pleased with him as a person and as a tutor for your child.
